Leslie Chunn

Leslie is a lifelong knitter who became a shepherd. While raising sheep and spring lambs, she became curious as to what to do with all of that wool. Products such as raw fleece, hand dyed wool, roving and batts for spinning into yarn, hand spun small skein yarns, wool for needle felting and weaving are offered for sale at the farm.

Her farm has been a host site for the Annual Wool Arts Tour over Columbus Day Weekend for over 10 years. She continues to offer classes to teach those skills.

I graduated from New England School of Photography in 1980, married my wife Susan in 1982 and spent the last 41 years as the sales executive. Thankfully, I still have an eye for light and shadow, and now that my sales career is winding down I am enjoying spending more time with my photography with hopes that my images will bring joy to others.

Rick Amon

Woodworking & Stonework

The wood work of Rick Amon include hand-carved hummingbirds and lovebirds. Rick’s stone work includes small alabaster bowls (one is shown here) which are turned on a lathe. They also have a rustic soapstone base. Rick draws from an ancient practice of turning stone that started in 4000BC with the Egyptians. Orange alabaster is among the rarest alabaster in the world. The alabaster for this piece was mined in Utah. The soap stone Rick uses is sourced from Afghanistan and Vermont.

Rick is known for the woodworking he uses to create The Bird of Happiness, which is a traditional North Russian wooden toy, carved in the shape of a bird. It was invented by Pomors, the inhabitants of the coasts of the White and Barents Seas. It is made without glue or fasteners, by carving thin petals for the bird’s wings and tail and then using a special method of spreading and curving them, also found in other products of the North Russian handicraft. The amulet is usually made of pine, fir, spruce, or Siberian cedar. It is suspended inside a house, guarding the family hearth and well-being.
